Tosan Aji Museum was founded on April 13, 1987 by Ismail (as Governor of Central Java). On June 10, 2001, the museum was moved in the District Court of Purworejo District located on Jalan Mayjend Sutoyo No. 10 Purworejo Central Java. So, the Tosan Aji Museum is a special museum that only presents one type of collection, Tosan Aji. But in its development, the Tosan Aji Museum not only displays the Tosan Aji collection, but also displays various collections of Cultural Heritage Objects. In addition, this museum also stores ancient collections in the form of Majapahit swords, samurai that were made in 1538 and 1817. In addition, the Tosan Aji Museum on every 1st Muharam / 1 Syuro held Jamasan Tosan Aji and Ruwatan Mass activities which were attended by Purworejo Regency Heritage Carnival activities.
